About the event
If you've been feeling stressed and confused by the self-taping process, you're not alone!
Like it or not, self taping auditions is here to stay. We can either be discouraged by that, or we can embrace it, and recognize it as a wonderful new opportunity for actors to take agency over their auditioning experience. When, in the history of acting, have actors had the ability to present themselves exactly as they want to be seen, and submit only theri very best work for consideration?
But blessing or not, it doesn't make overcoming the technical hurdles any easier.
That's where this class comes along. If you are struggling with any part of the self-taping process, this is the last class you'll ever need.
Unlike many other self-tape offerings, this is not a class on acting technique. Rather, it's a deep dive into the technical side of self taping, with the goal of removing all the confusion you may have about lights, audio, backdrops, framing and eye-line once and for all.
We'll cover:
- Lights - What lights do you need and why? Where should you place them? What is light temperature? What is diffusion? We'll clear it all up and give you a simple approach that will get you beautiful, consistent results.
- Audio - Learn how to achieve crisp, full, present audio that fully supports your vocal performance.
- Backdrops - Discover the simplest approach that will give you a picture perfect backdrop with very little effort.
- Framing and eye-line - Learn where to place yourself in the frame fro any type of audition, nail your head space and achive perfect eye-lines every time.
- Teleprompters - Learn how to use free teleprompter apps to relieve you of the burden of memorizing or holding your script in-hand.
- Tips and Tricks - You'll learn a whole array of insider tips on how to strteamline your process, and how the proper stands, cables, and adapters can cut hours off your self-taping time, allowing you to spend that time and energy on your acting - not your gear.
So join me in this fun and enlightening half-day workshop. Put the pain of self-taping behind you for good, and experience the pleasure of having the confidence that your self tapes are going to look and sound amazing from now on.
Instructor: Adam Elder Montanaro is a Bay Area filmmaker, coach, actor and self-taping guru!
